a screen door slapping shut, perpetual sand on the floors, mismatched mugs of coffee as the sunrise falls across the lake, the squeak of beach grass beneath your toes, the smell of the water changing with the day...

A lil' about Laura Siladke...

also known as...
Laura Bear, Lo, Mama, Laura hagan...

Born and raised in Leelanau County, Laura learned to sew as a child from her all time muse, her mother. She started chasing her garment construction dreams at age 16 with summer studies at FIT in NYC. At 20 she obtained her Bachelors at KCAD in Michigan and moved back to New York to attend Graduate school at Parsons School of Design. 22 years old, neck deep into her thesis and 3 months shy of Graduate school graduation, Laura dropped out of the MFA program, road tripped it to California and fully immersed herself in the fashion district of Los Angeles. Starting out as an assistant designer and working up to a C level executive position at a fast fashion apparel company, Laura learned the ropes of running a business and ultimately headed off on her own to launch Leelanau Clothing in 2018.

Thanks for supporting this small brand and following along.
